Default Where to buy North of Burlington

Hello to everyone. Schools are important. Budget for a new home is up to $420,000-430,000. Would like to have some space around, maybe copule of acres up to 10, actually. Where to buy? May be within 40 min to drive to Burlington, no more, less is OK

Thanks

North of Burlington?
Check out Westford and/or the northern part of Essex. Westford is rural as is the northern part of Essex. Essex High School has a good rep (where Westford kids go). Not sure about the elementary or middle schools.

The Colchester/Malletts Bay area is beautiful - just north of Burlington & lots of home are on or near the lake. Remember that 40 minutes in the summer can turn into hours in the winter - better to look closer.

My plan was also to move north of Burlington since I could get a lot more for my money. At the risk of offending those who live north, I'm glad I didn't.
We looked at dozens of houses in Franklin County and drove past one dumpy
yard after another. Rusty cars in the frontyard, rusty boxsprings in the back yards, smelly farms...the whole 9 yards. Even when we found a nice house,
the surrounding area was just too depressing.

If you want to live north, I guess the already mentioned Mallets Bay would be ok. Jericho and Underhill are very nice, but 40 minutes could be pushing it in the Winter. Is there a reason you want to live north? If I was considering schools, I'd look at rural Williston, Essex Junction, Hinesburg, Charlotte, and Shelburne too name a few.
