Default Hotel suggestion for Bolton Valley?

We have a wedding in Bolton Valley in a few weeks which is going to cost us a lot of money to attend. Looking forward to the wedding but would like to find an inexpensive place to stay for three nights while there. Any suggestions? As long as it's a clean - well kept place that's in a safe area.

Suggestions for things to do in that area would be greatly appreciated too!

Bolton Valley Resort is located up a windy mountain road. The only lodging up there is the resort itself or the Black Bear Inn (I think thats the name).

Your other options would be Waterbury - there is a decent Best Western there. Lots of good restaurants and Stowe, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, and the Ben & Jerry's Factory are just up Route 100.
OR
Stay in Greater Burlington. Lots of choices for chain hotels. In Williston are the Fairfield Inn (relatives have stayed here and liked it) and the Courtyard by Marriott, Marriott Residence Inn, and the Townplace Suites. More options in South Burlington. Williston/South Burlington are safe suburban towns.

If there are a number of wedding activities, you would be better off eating the cost and staying close. I question whether you would find any significant savings unless you hit the Burlington area, but you would eat that up is gas and travel.

Thank you. We are just going to the wedding and reception at the Bolton Valley Resort. We might stay an extra day and drive around, do something fun. We have to rent a car no matter what, I just don't want to pay a lot for a hotel.
