Default Manchester VT

We visted Manchester VT today and it was really beautiful! I wouldn't want to live there but we ate at Mullagins I think and the food and service was wonderful On the way home we stopped in another small town and had amazing cappuccino at a place called the Moon Dog cafe and that place was super to die for I want to go back and explore that place and walk around more!! Much as I love the high end shopping in Manchester I was intrigued by that little town in VT I see the little town was Chester VT...I had never heard of Chester VT...seems very liberal but it was super duper fun!

Flashback is on a distinguished road
We also love Manchester, VT. The stores are nice but the proximity to outdoor activities are fantastic.

In 2008 my wife and I opened a hostel for hikers on the Appalachian and Long Trail that pass quite close to town. We welcome these weary travelers into our home and in return receive great company, stories and friendships.

These hikers are usually on a long, long journey and need to recharge in town before hitting the trail in the morning. Most have not had a bath or real bed in days. But, they leave Manchester clean and refreshed.

I'm in Chester -- it's a large area of 50 sq miles, but the village area is what most folks think of when they hear 'Chester'. Moon Dog has some great food. Next time through you might want to check out the stone village (follow 103 north up and through Chester Depot) and perhaps consider the Green Mountain RR ride round trip from Bellows Falls to Chester Depot.

Manchester is definitely a way point for the thru and section hikers on the Appalachian/Long Trail. My experience with Manchester goes back to the 1970s and come late July I'll be stopping by again for a resupply on my extended hike from Mass to Killington. Up until now the only place for hikers to overnight on a budget which catered to hikers was Suttons Place. It would be nice if Manchester could attract more services like Dalton, Mass has for hikers. I always make it a point to stop for chow at Manchester Pizza in the plaza where Price Chopper and EMS are. While I understand the outlet stores bring in revenue they really are not so much suited to John and Jane Q Public budgets. Nonetheless, I have always liked that region.
