Back on topic,,,,,,, yes lovely morning today.
So far so good....the day is young.

Sunday when it was raining and the sun was shining at the same time,it was very pretty. Just made doing any yard work a pain.

Today was so weird. I took my rain jacket with me, but since it was sunny, I put on my sun visor hat and put the jacket in the car. Within minutes it was raining. Then it stopped. Then it started again. This went on all day. At times it was sunny.

The only constant was the uncomfortable humidity.

Strange day.

I hope it's better tomorrow.

It's been the same story in Maine this summer. Two sunny days followed by a week of rain. This has been by far the worst weather I have seen during any summer in my 51 years. We went to Vermont last week for the Brewer's Festival in Burlington. It poured Friday night and they had hail before we got there....even a tornado. Saturday we got a few down pours though the whole day was not a washout and it rained on Sunday morning too. No real summer this year!

We just returned from Stowe today ~ gray and rainy most of the time we were there except one day then rain again. Finally the sun came out and stayed out yesterday and today.....and we (reluctantly) had to leave today!

My poor kids. I enrolled them in our local recreation program. They do crafts, sports and activities in the morning and go swimming and hiking at the local state park in the afternoon.

It's rained almost every day since the program began in late June. They sit shivering under their towels at the lake or hanging out in the snack shack. They were supposed to hike Mount Elmore today, but I'm guessing that it was canceled because of the rain.

I hope we get at least one sunny day for Lamoille County Field Days this weekend. Last year, a downpour/thunderstorm started about half an hour after we arrived. The kids look forward to the rides and 4-H displays.
