My favorite part of Vermont is the beautiful hills and mountains of Breadloaf and that whole area. Just today I went up and hiked up behind Robert Frost's cabin. I love going out there because you don't see as many people as you do in most other popular hiking areas.
But really, there are so many places that are at the top of my list. Burlington is so much fun and has such an exciting atmosphere. Manchester is great if you need to buy dress clothes or other items that are hard to find in most other VT towns. I have fond memories of going over to Warren to go buy candy from the "Warren store" when I was younger. My friend has a cabin on Lake Dunmore and we frequently go kayaking or boating. How can you choose just one area? I love all of VT.

Burlington for me..
,,a small city nestled between the Green Mountains, Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. A little touch of urbanity, but with small town mannerisms and a generally unhurried lifestyle.

Bite your tongue!
VT Tchotchke store is not the LL Bean of VT. LL Bean is a little closer to Orvis than it is to VCS.

Montpelier is the coolest state capital I've ever visited! I bought beautiful crystal prisms for my kitchen window in a very neat shop there last summer.
I'm a fan of Stowe, Duxbury, Williston, Burlington, Castleton/Lake Bomoseen ( Beam me up ) and Woodstock, even though it was a bit old-school-stuffy-feeling when I visitied ~ it is gorgeous.
I'm looking forward to exploring more of Vermont in the future.
