Today was an absolute wash out at my place too and cold. Actually had to run the furnace this evening as temps dropped down into 50's with the damp and clammy weather. Hope we will salvage some summer this year, even if it's just a few weeks worth.

Yeah it's a pretty bad summer so far. I don't like the hot, humid weather we usually get, but, I don't like this rain everyday either. I've had a good camping trip (other than forgetting the bugspray...) precisely once this year, nearly every hiking trip I've been rained on (including a surprise shower once when testing out a new flintlock rifle, they don't work that well when wet...) and have had to deal with some pretty bad trail conditions from the rain, and in my sad looking garden even my peas look like they're miserable from the weather, and they usually tolerate crappy weather well...I hope this Fall is nicer, but I won't get my hopes up. It rained bad last year the first week of trapping season (last week of October) and flooded a field I was trapping, lost one of my traps to a river (too deep/dangerous to go get it out)...hoping for better weather sometime soon!

YAY finally some Sunshine.
Was getting nervous if we were going to have another one of those*one week of Summer ordeals
like we did some years ago, course that week was too hot and humid to do anything.

Strangely, the only thing thriving in our garden is...
Our potatoe plants. The tomatoe plants don't even have flowers. The peppers and eggplants haven't grown more than an inch this past month. Lettuce is still too small to be picked.
