Manchester and Woodstock are both resort/tourist towns. Real estate is $$$. Traffic can be a pain during peak travel times.
Of the 2, Manchester has more IMO. Shopping, golf, restaurants, etc.

I preferred Woodstock....
Manchester has a higher commercial(??) factor with the outlets and car dealer stuff....
I worked there for a while and dont remember a food store in town, but I could
be wrong. Woodstock has a nicer feel/architecture and layout and a food store
in walking distance. But yeah, both are hi-$$$$$ and hi-tourist. Some people
might consider Woodstocks closer proximity to NH a plus too, for airport, hospital
and shopping.
If you come up from Maryland to check them out, DO NOT SPEED through Woodstock !!!!
In fact in the 25 zone, go 23 !!!!

Woodstock is nicer than Manchester, imo. Expensive though. If you buy one of the homes in town, we can have a party there.

Have you considered the Berkshires? That area is rapidly becoming my favorite region of New England.

and a Price Chopper. It is an older store and sort of shabby. They want to build a new one and most likely will in the near future.

We enjoy Manchester because its close to hiking trails, fishing, biking, snowmobiling, canoeing and skiing. Lots of our neighbors enjoy the outdoors.
Love the Northshire Bookstore and Riley Rink (ice skating) too!!!
Albany, NY is 1 hr and 10 minutes away for airport and big city requirements.
