Default Vermont Brewer's Festival...too many dogs!

We enjoyed the Saturday afternoon session of the Vermont Brewers Festival very much. Good food good beer and good time.

We were, however, somewhat perplexed at the festival organizers allowing dogs into the festival area. Though leashed, there were several “dog fights’ taking place. Owners were not collecting feces and the dogs were urinating at will virtually everywhere.

Several of the dogs there were outright obnoxious in their constant barking and yipping. We own a dog and would never consider bringing him to a large gathering like the Vermont Brewer’s Festival. Since other dog owners are less considerate of others perhaps the Brewers Festival Committee should re-address its’ policy in allowing dogs onto the grounds of the Brewers Festival.

We paid for a good time and that time should not have been ruined by a large number of unruly, dirty, dogs and their cavalier owners.

On Friday we were going to go to the brew fest until we got to the waterfront. I could not belive how many people had dogs there. I'm a dog lover, but the last thing we wanted was to drink beer and slip in dog s#@t. We ended up going to Breakwaters. Not crowded with good music and good beer.

You should send a letter/e-mail to the folks who put on the event with your comments. We've been to this event in the past and i don't remember dogs being a problem, but from the sounds of it it now is! I love dogs too, but the brewer's fest is not an appropriate place for them IMO.

I sent the festival organizers an email. They said they would look into the policy. I have nothing against dogs in general but there are some owners who think it's ok to let them jump on you, pee all over the place , and take dumps at will. When there are so many of them in one place they are fighting on the leash there are too many. People can live without Fido for four hours while the rest of us enjoy ourselves!
