Default Moving to Castleton area

My husband just accpeted a position at Castleton College so my family will be moving to that area from Columbia, SC sometime this summer. Does anyone have suggestions about a good area to live that is convienant to the college? We will probably be renting, at least to begin with, and we'll have a 2 month old, but no children of school-age. We don't mind a bit of a drive, as long as it isn't outrageous, and especially if it means saving some money on housing.
I appreciate any information that anyone would like to offer. We're very excited about moving to Vermont!

There are so many areas around there just look anywhere close to Rt.4 !
Areas to avoid..West Rutland, Rutland and Fair Haven.
Bomoseen, Pittsford, Proctor, Castleton, Clarendon, Wallingford are a few good areas.
My house in Proctor is for sale *WiNk* *wInK*

Dont forget to eat at the Birdseye diner too..MmmmmmmMMMMmm ..

My parents are in Wallingford and it's a nice community. Also check out Clarendon, Pittsford, Brandon. Poultney might be an option too.

Smile Thanks!

Thank you both for your input; it is much appreciated. I can't wait to get out of this hot, humid city! Thanks, again.
