um.... that's exaclty the sort of "pro=business" incentives that people have been crying out for right along. Why do you think NH has a reputation as being more pro-business then VT? Because the state and cities offer tax incentives to bring in businesses.

That's how it works. You (not necessarily you mustmove, but the general complaint in this forum) can't complain that VT isn't business friendly then complain because they give tax incentives to bring in businesses

$240k in tax incentives is peanuts compared to what that company will pay in salaries and other money they pour into Milton and the surrounding areas.

Exactly the state needs to lower the tax burden on everyone and there will be more prosperity and more tax revenues gained at a lower rate.

There are nothing wrong with tax incentives to entice a company to move in and bring new jobs. If you don't offer the incentives the companies won't move in and you won't collect any taxes anyhow, so you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. It's very competetive now trying to attract companies, every town, city and state is trying to attract them.

Ha, ha, a few buddies and myself heard the news announcer this morning announce Gov Douglas and the "30" new jobs over the next two years. The fact is that Vt is generating ZERO new jobs and will soon soon be bleeding even more job losses in the aggregate. I am not pleased in the least to be bringing this up, but no matter how much the media tries to bring a ray of sunshine into an otherwise rainy day, the overall situation here is pretty dismal and will be so for some time. For those few that actually land decent work, I am glad, as we need real lasting employment with realistic wages to maybe take hold to some degree before the entitlement siphon sucks us into the sinkhole of no return.
