Default What are you doing for Hallowe'en?

Rutland has a traditional, typically quirky, and wonderful offering:

We lived in Wallingford for a few years when I was a kid. The parade in Rutland was a must. Even after we moved to another part of the state, we continued to drive to Rutland every year because the parade was so much fun. It's one of those "fun for all ages" events.

Depends on the weather.

Then again we might just stay home and hide from the Tricky Treaters.

It is a quirkily wonderful parade. I usually avoid crowds but the Rutland parade is worth it.

Growing up in Miami Beach I always limited my Hallowe'en costumes to the tiniest, coolest outfits possible because it was so bloody hot. Here the kids can wear gorilla suits if they want. Of course, some years it pays to dress up like an Eskimo.

We're going to my SIL's house to help hand out candy as she gets loads of kids. We get none where we live in the sticks.

What town does your SIL live in?

We get a light but steady pack in the late afternoon and early evening; then they all head downtown for the parade. It's a nice cutoff for ending the distribution and turning off the lights.

In our town, Morristown, everyone heads to the village or to the lone large subdivision to trick or treat. We usually drop off a bag of candy at the home of a friend who lives in the village (she gets upwards of 200 trick or treaters) and then proceed from there with my two kids.

It's a fun family outing b/c we see dozens of families we know and everyone is in a good mood. We usually stay out for two hours or so.

We leave a bag of candy in a bowl on our front porch, but no one really trick or treats on our road (other than the kids who live there) because it's so rural.

Cool! I have huge long curly hair and kind of look like Hallowe'en every day. I'll give a thumbs up.

It's so warm out but it's windy and pouring. Very few trick-or-treaters tonight. Bet this reduces parade goers. Kept me home. (Also, my husband is recovering from an illness and I'm caring for him.)
