Default Any Teachers?

My husband and I are very much looking forward to moving to Vermont in the future. My husband is an architect and I am a preschool teacher. I know, the economy now, no luck for my husband, but what about me? I look at ads constantly needing early childhood education providers, so i'm hopeful, but wanted to hear from other teachers in the Burlington area. Not just Burlington though, all around is fine as well. I just wonder if anyone knows about the programs, the teachers, how the centers pay, etc.

Thanks
Bri

Former teacher here, but high school level. There's more teachers than jobs here for most positions. The schools/positions with a high turnover rate have one for a reason usually. I learned that the hard way.

My neighbor just moved up here from Florida. She got a job in the Middlebury school district. I see positions open in the newspaper for teachers all the time. Check the online VT newspapers. Your husband may not have a problem getting a job either. Good luck to you both.

My husband is an architect. He's been a stay at home dad since we moved here 3-4 months ago but he is just starting to network now and while no one is hiring yet, there does seem to be a lot of projects pending, that will go through once financing gets back to normal. Buildings need renovations, medical offices need to be built, etc.

Preschool teachers pay seems to be roughly $9 - 12/per hour and that's poverty wages in vermont.
