From NYC to Middlebury?
Hi all,
I have a little favor to ask. I was wondering if any of your can give me some suggestion on using the public trasportation from NYC to Middlebury, VT.
What would be the most convenient way to travel from NYC to Middlebury, VT? Since I won't be able to drive by myself and have to travel with a big suitcase, so I was thinking about taking the Amtrak to Rutland then take other public trasportation from that point. Or would it be better if I head to Burlington directly and look for other transportation from there?
A lot of questions to ask, since I've never been there, any of your suggestion will be appreciated! Thx!

Check out Vermont Transit Lines (bus). I believe they run buses from NYC to Burlington which stop in Middlebury.
Aside from Amtrak, another option would be to fly - JetBlue from JFK to Burlington, then take a cab to Middlebury (not sure how much the cab would cost).

Miranda,
There is no doubt in my mind that the best way would be to drive to Burlington and take JetBlue to JFK. If you book in advance it is $49 each way and the flight is 1 1/2 hours. It would take you three times as long and cost more in total to take trains and buses to get to NYC.
Check it out.

I hate to say this there is no longer Vermont Transit Lines (bus) that stops in Middlebury anymore, You would have to go to Rutland and take a cab from Rutland to Middlebury or have a friend pick you up in Rutland at the Bus Station
