Default Relocation to St Johnsbury

I have been doing much research on the computer about places to relocate too. I am origiannly from Western Massachusetts and have lived in Florida for the last 21 years, Daytona Beach to be exact. I need to get back to New England before I loose my mind. I have looked at Keene New Hampshire and am now looking at St Johnsbury, VT. Does anyone have any light to shed on life in Brattleboro. I am looking for a new England feel, far enough away yet close enough to visit family in Massachusetts. I will be renting and will need a 3 bedroom apartment or house. Peace and quiet, safety and interstate access is of utmost importance. I also am an LPN, are there any jobs in the health care field? Please HELP!!!!!!
Diane

Real estate in the NOrtheast Kingdom (the part of the state that StJ is located in) is some of the cheapest in Vermont. It's also probably the most economically depressed part of the state.
The good news is, as an LPN, you should have no problem with jobs. There are two hospitals in the area - Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury and Littleton Regional Hospital in Littleton. I do know people who commute to work at Cottage Hospital (Woodsville NH) and Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon, NH.
The StJ area is quiet - not a whole heck of a lot going on. Most shopping is done in nearby Littleton. STJ does have a really nice library/art gallery and the Fairbanks Museum. Between St. Johnsbury Academy, Catamount Arts, and Lyndon State College, there is usually some sort of event going on most times.
At the intersection of I-91 & I-91, STJ is a good place if you want interstate access. I could hit Route 128(95) in Woburn, MA outside of Boston in 2 hours & 40 minutes. Boston would be another 20 minutes. NYC is about 5 hours. Springfield, 3ish.
The local paper is www.caledonianrecord.com check it out!
