Default St. Albans City vs. Town

Hi,
My family and I are relocating to the St. Albans area. We have been busy researching the schools in the area for our young children. Is there really a big difference between the City and Town schools in Saint Albans? I like the idea of living in the city so we can walk to things in town, but I keep hearing that the Town school is better. So, I am trying to find out if the Town school really is better or its just a nicer, newer building but the quality of education is the same.
We are also looking at Swanton and Georgia as possibilities.
Thanks.

I've heard that Town schools are a lot better than the City schools. My husband and I have entertained the thought of moving up there (from Chittenden County) and would probably NOT choose a house in the City. The town has an interesting layout~technically you are in the town right off the interstate (Exit 19) if you head left (not sure of the road) and the Town school is on your right as you head toward the city. I believe that is Rt. 36. Anyway, you come to the City, drive through it, and the Town starts up again. I know, not very technical terms or boundaries, but I imagine you could find those easily enough. Just thought I'd throw out some food for thought.

As far as Georgia or Swanton~ I'd live in Georgia over Swanton ANY DAY. Where are you moving from?

A plus for Georgia is that you have school choice for 9-12.
