Default Looking for ancestors

My ancestry is found in Birds Eye, Ira, Vt dating back to the very early 1800's. I have names and such. Anyone know how to go about finding more info on Birds Eye, or Birds Eye Mountain in Ira, VT. I am looking for websites that may contain info or maps or anything relating to the time.

Do a web search for "Beer's Map" and you may find something. The Vermont Historical Society in Barre is probably going to be your best starting point for other searches. There are genalogical websites and other sources of information on particular family names.

I'm trying to remember if Ira was one of the areas that became a gore, or was assimilated by another town... Stowe comes to mind, no, that was Sterling. The historical society will be your best bet.
