I think this happens in every Call of Duty game...

Call of Duty 4- M16
W@W- MP40
MW2- ACR, UMP, Intervention
Blk Ops- AK74u and G11

Honestly the AK74u trumps every gun in the game. For a sub machine gun it has the range that is better than some assault rifles, deals out a heavy amount of damage, and has pretty decent accuracy- add rapid fire, and sleight of hand pro and you have the most powerful weapon in the game. The scorpion could have been the best submachine gun but it lacks range.

So true. Also, I think you almost HAVE to have Hacker as one of the perks because there are just so many people who set up those motion devices or cameras and just camp out.

My preferred weapons are:

Primary: Famas, G11 and AK74u. I like the Stoner but almost never use it.

Perks: Lightweight, Slight of Hand, Hacker

I am not into the knifing and tomahawking like some of the 10 year olds who play the game so secondary weapons are not important to me. I do however, have a class set up with launchers just to be able to shoot down enemy air support.

I have to strongly disagree with you. I am not impressed with the AK74u but then again I've never cared for weak weapons, a prime example would be the ACR in MW2 which I loathe. Loved the UMP in MW2 though. Probably the best all around weapon in MW2 in my opinion. I only play hardcore and still find the ACR and AK74u weapons to be underpowered unless you get the drop on someone.
So far the best weapons to me in Black ops would be the Stoner63, Commando, and Kiparis. The Kiparis is the only SMG I like and I think it's pretty wicked. High rate of fire with some knockdown power. I usually use the famas then Galil supressed until I can unlock the ones I listed.

I play a mixture of everything, so when I do play Hardcore my setup is....

G11 (iron sights), Ghost Pro, Sleight of Hand Pro, and Hacker Pro

if I play anything regular I use....

Ak74u (iron sights) rapid fire, Lightweight Pro, Sleight of Hand Pro, and Marathon Pro....

I run and gun and I stay in places that are CQC areas when playing regular game modes. For me the Ak74u in this game is just like the MP5 in COD4- basically un-mess-withable

noid, have you tried the Kiparis? (unlocked after you purchase all the smg's) I love this gun. If you haven't tried it, give it a test drive.

I meant to bring this up yesterday when I posted but is anybody else hooked on the zombies mode. I never played W@W so this is all new to me. Since diving into the zombies mode, I've already met new people and added a few new people to my friends list to chat and play with. I'm completely hooked on this aspect of the game. So much, that I have not played anything else within the game since I gave Zombies a test drive this past Sunday.

Although I can understand someone not liking the zombie mode, I can't understand how it's one of the "worse things" about Black ops. Please eloborate.

Well, they make the levels so hard and boring. If your teammates suck. Well you won't be moving on up. Then it takes so many bullets to kill a zombie and you can't knife them. Its just so boring compare to multiplayer. And multiplayer is pretty bad as it is.

Well on the teammates sucking, it's true, teamwork is huge in this mode. But I find this pitfall no different than when I playing S&D, HQ, CTF, or domination without my friends. I play any of the aforementioned games by myself and I usually find myself surrounded by a bunch of kids who turn the game into team deathmatch. I hate being the only one my team trying to capture the HQ, it's maddening. At least in zombies if you chose to be an individual, you die a quick death. I have no qualms not reviving an idiot who wants to steal kills and not assist. The good thing about zombies is, I don't have to worry about the guy I just shot, spawning 2 feet behind me. Or dying and spawning in the path of an airstrike...twice. The zombies do get tougher, but thats kinda the point and the fun. The survival aspect of it. A greater emphasis is put on your life, instead of the infinite lives you get in TDM, HQ, etc. More skill is required and less dependency on who's has the better latency, you are the guy on the other team.
As far as the so many bullets, not if you continue to upgrade. You have to get better weapons. After that you can put say the ray gun in the pack a punch machine to make it even more deadly. Then you have other things like jugger nog, speed cola, etc to help you out. Around level 11, you better find juggernog so you can sustain some damage.
And you have to keep moving once you reach a certain level. find areas to hold it down for a bit, then move. At some point, you just keep moving, line up and shoot, but keep moving. This is no campers game, thats for sure.

But yea, it can be frustrating when your teammates suck, and the vast majority that jump into these games do not know how to play it, and haven't bothered to think and learn. They keep committing the same mistakes over and over.
