Default Fox News and Bulletstorm

I normally don't follow Fox News, but this got my attention:
Is Bulletstorm the Worst Video Game in the World? - FoxNews.com
I've been hearing stories like this about different games for years and I can't remember a single instance when the "journalist" made an effort to actually get to know the topic before writing bs. So gamers, tell me this: do you think this uninformed fear mongering will some day end ?
Also, as a gamer I found the article highly entertaining, though I warn you you will go from to several times reading it
Yac.

Wow. Just. Wow.

Here's my facial expression right from the get-go.

What is this I don't even.

Seriously, words cannot even begin to describe just how hilarious (read: disgusting) this article is. It places a lot of blame on the game instead of the parents for not managing the games that their children play.

If only parents were more game-savvy and knew what their children were playing (and re-inforced the reality vs fantasy)...

Parents dont have to be game savvy just have to read the content rating on the back of each box. If a parent buys the game for their kid then **** its their fault. Nothing to do with the developers. Its like blaming a p0rn company if a parent catches their kid with p0rn.

Problem is, I've talked to numerous parents (when I worked retail) who never even knew there was a ratings system for games. You wouldn't believe the stories that kids tell their parents about game xyz - lying about the level of violence, cursing, etc. And yes, I've had that stereotypical conversation with a clueless parent who was pretty close to buying a GTA game for her 8 year old monster.

By game-savvy, I don't mean that all parents should be playing games and know every single title that is coming out. I just mean that parents should actually Google up the titles that their children want - reading the reviews and looking at screenshots. That way, they know what they are buying.

Yeh i see what you are saying, but the parents stupidity isnt the fault of the game company either. How dumb do you have to be to live in the US where everything is regulated and not think that games have ratings and stuff.

They were gonna buy Grand Theft Auto ? The name wasnt a clue ? hehe.

I miss the days were parents (like mine) cared enough to scold me with the wooden spoon and read the back of whatever I wanted them to buy me game and video wise.

Never said it was the game company's fault. Stupid parents are stupid.

Though this article pretty much guaranteed that I will be playing Bulletstorm.

In the new video game Bulletstorm due February 22, players are rewarded for shooting enemies in the private parts (such as the buttocks). There’s an excess of profanity, of course, including frequent use of F-words. And Bulletstorm is particularly gruesome, with body parts that explode all over the screen.
Ironic, since the game description sounds like a primer for the Neocon driven Mid East agenda.
