Default Has anyone played Assassin's Creed Revelations?

Today i woked up, the first thing on my mind was to get to the local Kmart store and get this game. I played for 4 hours and I've yet to reach 10% in game completion. I've only done 5-6 story missions and there is many more to go, plus the Constantinople map is HUGE!

For the ones that got it, where are you in the game?

I've got Assassin's Creed 1, 2, and Brotherhood from Steam Sales. I only started AC 1 and I only played 10 hrs of it. I'm frustrated with it's savegame system and when I sometimes climb to viewpoints he makes a suicide jump instead. And I'm using a gamepad controller. I haven't even started AC 2 & Brotherhood and I wonder if I would even like these games. I prefer playing Fable 3 and I have 44 hrs on that game.

I'll buy Revelations when it hits $20 on Steam. Maybe by that time I would have played AC 2 and Brotherhood by then. If Revelations uses a save checkpoint system I'd hate it! -- Does it use that?

In AC 2 through Revelations it uses an auto save system in certain points in the game for example: When you buy items in stores, finish missions etc it saves your progress into the HDD.

I suggest you complete AC 1 then head on to AC 2, that's if you want to understand the concept of the story .

I recommend dumping AC1 and going straight to AC2 if you want good game play and don't necessarily care about story line, which can be found on numerous websites.

Controls, climbing, etc in AC2 are so much better!!!

Oh, and as for the OP - it is scheduled to arrive Friday. So you can imagine what our weekend will be like. We have to decide between Ratchet and Clank All 4 One (already started), Uncharted 3 (already started), and AC Revelations.

I just looked at a Youtube video of a Revelations melee fight. Very dumb and unchallenging. Fable 3 has better melee fighting action, where all enemies can attack you at once... Revelations - you attack one guy while the other enemies stupidly do nothing... Seems like another pretty graphics game. AC 1 already had good enough graphics. Fighting in AC seems to be just simple button mashing... kinda boring. I'd say Fable 3 is better than any AC game. That's why I played it twice [48 hrs].

Guess I'm not enthusiastic about Revelations. I'll wait till it's $17 to $20 on Steam... probably in 1 year!

I agree the fighting is dumb, but there are other things in the game that makes up for it.

You can rent it if you like.

I can't rent AC Rev, I only play PC games, no consoles.

Have both of you guys tried Fable 3? It's really great. One of my "surprised I liked it" Steam Sale buys.

Fable 3 you can fight melee, magic, or guns.

I admit, I play the AC series partly for the "eye candy..." I turn the graphics all the way up!

No, but I'm certainly going to check it out. Thanks for the heads up.
