Of course. Its the biggest selling game of the year AND has already outsold and out earned even the largest big budget Hollywood film. Any "Game Of The Year" talk should begin with Skyrim and MW3. How did you even come up with Batman? MW3 wasnt even enough on your radar to list it as one of the Top 10 games? (You listed ten above).
Quite possibly because Batman was actually good and new, unlike MW3.
MW3 may have sold well, but that's about all it does "well".
None since thier all sequals and provide little inovation for modern gaming. But if I had to choose, Skyrim or Uncharted 3. The whole PS3 thing (I havent expirenced it yet) kind of puts a damper on the Skyrim thing though.

Batman is the most complete game this year. Great A+ Story line. Loads of missions/side missions to do. Graphics/Sound top notch. Fun gameplay. My pick of GOTY.
From the magazine/spike awards, all signs point to either Batman or Skyrim to take the GOTY honors. No one else is really in true contention.
As for MW3, it might have sold well but is far from my list too. It was the same game (from single player experience) as either title prior in MW line. I felt like I was playing the same rehashed story.
Spoiler
And it even finished the same as all the title before them; slowmo and all.
This reason alone shafts it. Let's be real... multiplayer is still Call of Duty but its competitor DICE (i.e. the guys behind BF series) still produces a better multiplayer experience.
As for my top 10, MW3 wouldn't have hit in the Top 10. It would be lucky to hit my top 15.
In no particular order...
- Batman Arkham City
- Skyrim
- LittleBigPlanet 2
- Super Mario Land 3D
- Portal 2
- Assassin's Creed Revelations
- Gears of War 3
- Uncharted 3
- Bastion
- Battlefield 3 (as a multiplayer title)
I'm going with Skyrim. It was just more fun that MW3, which I found MW2 to be better, even though I'm not much of a FPS guy. (and the Battlefield series did the mutliplayer thing better, I agree with that)
This is not an easy choice to make, I have quite a few candidates. Skyrim and BF3, to name the most obvious ones. When I think of games that also managed to deliver a A+ gaming experience, I'd add Deus Ex (it is rare series sequels/reboots manage to get it right after so many years) and Witcher 2 (for one, it's still the prettiest game out there imo, another thing was the great plot and memorable characters - something Skyrim unfortunately lacks).
I haven't voted yet, but I will once I make up my mind.
Yac
I've only played Skyrim and Arkham city on that list, but I imagine Skyrim will be the top pick.
