Okay, I may get some chuckles here, but I'm not a "gamer" . That being said , I received an old PC Game , Battlefield 1942, for Xmas, and can't seem to get through a battle without it freezing up.
I thought it would do just fine as my PC is old ( 2008 ), but not as old as the game ( 2004 I think ).
I tried defragging, scanning and disk cleanup across the board, everything I could think of to clean up the PC, but it still freezes up on this game .
Any suggestions ?
^^ what skel said. Especially if the case hasn't been cleaned out in a while.
Here are the requirements for BF1942, for comparison to your computer:
Windows® XP, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, (Windows NT and 95 are not supported)
500 MHz Intel® Pentium® or AMD Athlon™ processor
128 MB RAM
4x CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive
1.2 GB free hard disk space plus space for saved games (additional space required for Windows swap-file and DirectX™ 8.1 installation)
32 MB video card which supports Transform & Lighting and with DirectX 8.1 compatible driver
DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
Keyboard, Mouse
With a pc from 2008, you're probably good to run it, but check your system just to make sure. May want to make sure your video drivers are up to date, as well.
