gta 5 on ps3 using cell phone for cheats? (The Police, Crime)

on gta4 i can use cheats quick, just by going on the phone and calling the cheat.

on Gta5 i cant seem to find this feature, and i cant key it in while on pause. I want it cause sometimes when i do a crime out of boredom and the police comes, its sucks to have to key in each time to take off 1 star, most of the time i just get killed before i finish typing the code.

The bad thing with using cheats on the phone is if you get shot you have to put it in again.

Pause the game and hit Triangle to hide the map (or whatever button it is to hide it). Then you can input the code while the game is paused.
