Still playing Division 2.

There have been a few scenarios where I felt like rage quitting due to the non-stop barrage of enemies they throw at you. But somehow this game keeps me addicted. I think it's that feeling of completing a mission by the skin of my teeth that keeps me hooked. Many times I was on my last health bar with no armor rebuild, slowly being approached by multiple enemies on both flanks, yet somehow I miraculously survived. It's that rush.

I'm finding the main battles in AC Odyssey to be the same. Gets old quick.

Far Cry New Dawn
So far I'm not down with all the crafting needed to get better weapons or to even upgrade to the next level/tier of guns to access crafting them. It's basically the game forcing you to do all the different types of side quests. I like the traditional outposts, but the expedition I tried was such a pain that I left it. And where do you get the gear things (1 of 3 things needed) to craft better weapons? The expeditions.

I remember with Far Cry 5 I got an awesome bow with a sight/scope early in the game & it made stealth so much easier & more fun. Want a bow with a sight in New Dawn? Well you'll have to wait & wait & scavenge & scavenge some more.

It feels kinda cheap on Ubisofts end. Like they know some of the side missions aren't fun so they find a way to force you to do them. I've hardly done any of the main story missions (which have been pretty good), because I've spent a huge chunk of time doing all the side stuff to try to level up & buy some decent weapons.

Yep, that's why I really hope that they base the next Far Cry on FC5. If you played Far Cry Primal it's blatantly obvious that New Dawn was largely copy/pasted from Primal's gameplay. Once I realized that I immediately went and recruited the dog Timber and mostly used him the rest of the game. In FC5 the cult will just shoot Boomer and/or Peaches, but in New Dawn the dog is extremely effective. They basically took the rare black Jaguar and the rare black cave lion from Primal and copy/pasted their abilities into Timber. Also, just like Primal, if your GFH dies then you can just use resources to immediately revive them.

Timber is all I've been using. His ability to tag enemies & crafting materials makes me not want to use anyone else. I also preferred the animal specialists in FC5.

I finally got to Level 3 weapons & the game's a lot more fun now. I realized replaying outposts is actually pretty easy & gives a lot of ethanol to do upgrades. Feels like a regular fun Far Cry game now. Now I'm cruising through missions & clearing the map. I even did a couple expeditions & they were fun & a lot easier.

What a difference having good weapons makes. I still wish they started you out with a better weapon or gave you access to buy them.

Been going through FFXV Royal Edition on XB1X. Feels like a totally different game vs. base game on my original PS4.

Yeah, that last boss was ridiculous. At least with the twins fight you had houses & trees to shield yourself with. With the last battle I finally said enough & just ran around constantly while spamming health renewal packs until he was dead. It was ugly. It actually required more patience than actual skill on my part to not spend too much time stopped & blasting away with my gun.

The Division 2. Seems like there's endless things to do and it's fun.

Yes I rage quit. I have no patience for cheaply designed boss fights that drag on pointlessly just to stretch out the gameplay. Even watching someone beat the boss on YouTube was so boring that I didn't even finish it. The twins initially gave me problems, but once I got the special machine gun, it was so easy to kill them both.

I'm at level 30 now and am stuck trying to liberate Roosevelt Island.

Some of the bosses and missions in this game were so hard, I rage quit multiple times.

Yet, there are so many great things going on in this game, that it has slowly become one of the best games I have played in a while. While there will be grinding going on to build up you level and progress the game and base upgrades, some of the missions are amazing in their level design and gameplay. I've been playing nonstop since it came out.
