Why is it so hard for devs to create a transformative open-world game? There hasn't been a truly kick-ass one since GTA V/Online. I can't even find a game to take me away from The Division for more than a few days at a time.

Well it seems SkillUp (my favorite YouTube critic) really likes it, and he doesn’t have a problem calling out games and devs who deserve it, so I guess we’ll have to judge for ourselves.

Far Cry 5 for PlayStation 4 Reviews - Metacritic

Seems like those who don't like it have more of a issue with the storyline, and how it wasn't as fleshed out or good as the previews made it out to be.

I really don't care, as long as the gameplay is similar to previous FC. I did like FC 4 so I should like this one.

I'm still waiting for IGN and Gamespot's final review, I like their reviews the best.

I agree with both.

Good news from CNET's review.

While it doesn't deviate too far from other recent Far Cry entries, this iteration is by far the most complete, the most realized and an undeniably wild experience.

the game I LAST played was Madden 18 but only because I squeezed a game in before I went to bed last night. The one I am playing MOST is Assassin's Creed: Origins (PS4)

IGN gave it an 8.9, Gamespot a 9.

I actually rented it on Redbox yesterday. Totally loving it so far, if you liked the FC series you should like this one. Very similar gameplay as any other open world first person.

Love that they've introduced full campaign co-op...but disappointed that the 2nd player doesn't get to save any sort of progression. Essentially just jumping in as an NPC replacement.

I like FC 5 enough so far that I think I'll buy it.
