L70 Shadow Priestess here. Melting faces is where it's at, baby! Gets out those day-to-day aggressions without actually breaking anything.

Two of my guy friends play this game. What is all the hype about? What is the object of the game?

Object? To have fun. It's essentially an endless game. There are so many different paths to take in it that you never really finish, you just get better at playing the game. And when the point comes when you've nearly done everything, the gaming company adds an expansion pack and BAM! there's another several months worth of gaming content to explore. A lot of it is about teamwork with other people in the game, but there's a lot of content that can be done solo too.
For me it's very social because the people that I regularly play it with are real life friends of mine from all over the country. We stay in touch weekly this way, catch up with each other, beat each other up a bit, help each other out a bit, and try to beat the hard tasks within the game together.

WoW is for noobs. It requires absolutely no skill compared to virtually any other mmo out there. Wasted my money on playing it.
WoW players are to MMO's as counterstrike players are to FPS's

Sorry to hear you wasted your money. But, like everything else in life, to each his own regarding video games. Not everyone is going to like WOW and that's totally fine...so enjoy your game!

I played WOW for a couple of months and liked it alright but the character lvling process felt so limited. My guy was like his guy who was like your guy ext. I’ve been playing DDO (dungeons and dragons online) now for about a year and a half and while it not as close to PNP as I would like it to be it's definitely closer then any other MMO I’ve played.
