Post News, Wedding Woes: The Dark Side of Warcraft. Popular online PC game is causing marital discord.

Although best-selling online role-playing game World of Warcraft boasts over ten million subscribers, it's also leaving in its wake an increasing list of casualties.

Even though she's never played the game, 28 year-old Jocelyn is one of the fallen. A well-spoken California resident, she divorced her husband of six years after he developed a crippling addiction to the smash online RPG.

WoW is the new crack cocaine! (Except the rush apparently lasts much longer.)

Jocelyn recalled one particular incident that was typical of Peter's habits. "I had set aside 30 minutes for us to watch a television show together, and he couldn't. He was stuck on a raid, and completely failed to understand why I was upset," she said.
Kind of humorous taken out of context, eh?

Okay, I've said it before and I'll say it again:

WoW is not the problem. The problem is someone with an addictive personality. If you can't control yourself over something, then that's your weakness and not the fault of whatever it is you crave. If it wasn't WoW, then they'd be bleating about how something else ruined their marriage. Whatever...

Yep. Contrary to the headline in the OP, it is highly unlikely that WoW is the cause of any marital discord.
Maybe it was the symptom that broke the camel's back - but look elsewhere for the root cause.

Besides which, she always had the option of playing WoW herself, leveling up a character, and then kicking her husband's character's butt and taking all his lewt.

Yes, I'm being flippant. LOL

It doesn't touch AD&D. Pen and paper. No video games. Old-school nerd stuff. Nothing out there today is the same.
