Anyone playing this or thinking of getting it?

I'm intrigued. It seems like a slower paced exploration game where you can choose among billions of planets to visit.

And that's all you do...explore. No action, and as far as I can tell, no actual goal other than to explore more of its universe. A friend said he spent the first ten hours going to different planets shooting rocks. No thanks.

I don't see the appeal in this game. You have all of universe to explore and parts to upgrade your ship. What's the purpose of visiting these planets?

This game lacks substance.

Yea I am seriously debating whether to get this or not. It is definitely not cheap for me at 60 bucks so I have to be careful about this.

My friend is getting the game for his PC this weekend.

On one hand, I am intrigued by the exploration aspect of the game, at your own pace, and you never know what you will find.

On the other hand, I can see the game getting old very quick. Especially without a real narrative to guide you as far as I know.

Waiting for bugs to be worked out, and for the "universe" to fill out a little bit.

I had great expectations for the game, but after the initial launch, I'm gonna hold off.

Conceptually, I LOVE the game and the ideas behind it, but, at launch, it's seems very over promised and under delivered.

The idea of exploring, gathering, upgrading, seeing, doing at a casual pace intrigues me - so I'll get the game. I am worried that it might be buggy or unfinished...not that it will be too boring. I don't get the choice to put it out for consoles first before PCs, because it seems that this type of game might appeal to more mature PC gamers then fast twitch console types, but no biggie.

It does seem that the overall consensus is that it is a bit too slow...too repetitive with too little to do. But I'll still get it.

Reviews on Steam seem to be a mixed bag overall but I ended up reading quite a few convincing negative reqviews.

"A mile wide but only an inch deep." said by one reviewer seems to sum it up perfectly. The game just doesn't have enough to do to keep it interesting and is just an endless unrewarding grind of repetitiveness

Currently looks about as appealing as Spore and severely lacking in content. I might give it a try a year from now.

Yea I've been watching youtube videos and just not enough there to justify the price.

The concept is great and some of the graphics and execution look cool. But seems like just doing the same things over and over, mining and repairing and more mining as alluded to above.

Just wish there were more side missions and fun things to do on each planet.
