Default I love video games !

I am not your typical gamer, I am 40, female and a parent.

I have been playing video games since Pong and Atari.

I currently have so many systems set up to play, storage is a problem.

Systems I have:
8 bit Nintendo
Super Nintendo w/ an adaptor to play Super Famicom games
Nintendo 64
Gamecube
Nintendo Wii
Gameboy DS (I also have 3 other older version Gameboys)

Sega Genesis
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
Sega Nomad

Playstation
Playstation 2
PSP

I also collect Japanese games as well. I am about to take my Playstation 2 to a local guy so he can mod it to play PAL games also.

The same guy is going to mod my PSP so I can download the entire library of Super Nintendo games to it. I have found the PSP games pretty easy to beat so I don't use it much but this will make it alot more useful.

I love new games but I also realy love the old school stuff as well.

I also collect toys related to video games. Some of my most prized ones are my alarm clock and phone that are from Mario Kart. Mario Kart is one of my favorite games.

While I am a HUGE gan of Mario, I am a true addict to Bomberman, I have some small toys that I got from Japan that I absolutely love. I still have my first Bomberman game I ever bought AND some Japanese games as well.

I started my daughter out early, instead of watching TV, I would let her watch the more peaceful games while I played. She loves to play games now but I watch how much time she dedicates AND what kind of games she plays.

When she has friends over, I love to go in and play Mario Kart Double Dash with the kids, they get a kick out of someone's Mother paying with them. I of course am considered the coolest Mom.

Our family knows of our addiction and sends us gift cards or money to go and buy the next newest thing that we need for our collection.

Is there anyone else out there as into video gaming as I am?

You're talking my language beautifully. I'm 20, female, and a parent myself.

I've got almost every system released since the NES. I even have the ever-so-rare Atari Lynxx handheld system. The only system I'm missing right now is the PS3, a system my husband is getting me for my birthday.

Ever seen the entire Final Fantasy Anthology in order? It's a beautiful sight indeed.

My daughter watches some of the more peaceful games.. and we even have her playing around with Rock Band. She's only 20 months now.

Overall.. some people collect clocks. Some people collect china dolls. Some people collect shot glasses.

I collect games.

COOL, I am so glad to find a fellow female gamer. I love video games.

I am planning on getting Guitar Hero and the game that is used for the Drums as well, I think my daughter will enjoy it. She also wants the High School Musical game that comes with the microphone. I think its a neat way to encourage them to have interest in other things.

I have a HUGE decal that I posted on foam core board (dark green background) of Mario on the Kart. I am going to hang that on the wall of our game room. I also have some shelves that I have to hang to put our video games and toys on, they will hang right over the TV that we play on.

If you check out my thread about using video games as decorations.. it'll give you a taste of how game orientated we are here.

Rock Band is fantastic. I love the downloadable content that the 360 has - good music!

I've actually enjoyed playing the various music-coordination games since they first starting popping out in America. I started out with Dance Dance Revolution - still have my 5" thick Metal mats - and the song Butterfly. Then it went on to Para Para and on, and on.. Interesting note: I have Guitar Hero 1 and 2 for the PS2... but number 3 for the wii.

My daughter LOVES Dance Dance Revolution, we got that one for Christmas. I don't have the 360 yet, money is tight and the only new system we have purchased recently has been the Wii.

I will check your thread out. I want to get them all organized better but easily accessible. I am planning on hanging the guitar and so forth on the wall as decorations also, I think that will look pretty cool. We also have the bongos for the Gamecube which is cool.

I actually have this guy whose page you need to see, its on myspace, he is a kid and he makes up his own cross stitch patterns based on video games, he does it by hand, not using a computer program. He is so cool. I will look it up and send it too you, you should get a kick out of it. It would be a nice way to decorate a gaming room.

I am thinking about doing my own to use as decoration but I haven't gotten that far yet. I have also found some cool things on Ebay, things like rugs, stuffed animals, pictures and so forth. Some more expensive then others.

Hurrah for video games! They are the only thing in the world better than unlimited frosty mug rootbeer refills at Brownie's in Tulsa,my grandmothers sweet green bean bacon wraps, and the creamy veggie soup+cheddar buiscuits at The Dixie Stampede! OH how i LOVE southern food and miss living in Arkansas, but video games are simply amazing!
