I still disagree ...

I think it's Marry-o.

Marry-o is how people where I live say it. Most of the people here in my area (Brooklyn, Queens, LI) say Marry-o. Mario from the game is supposed to be an Italian plumber from Brooklyn. It makes sense to me that it would be how the people in Brooklyn say it.

Depends if you're talking Spanish, Italian, French. If you're talking about Nintendo, it uses the Italian pronunciation. Or sort of like an exaggerated version anyway. Ma --- reeyooh.

It doesn't matter, that is not how the character says it.

They don't say MARRY O in Italy. He just has a thick , over done, accent.
