Yes.
38 here and I have been playing since Atari and Intellivision.
Mine is the generation that grew up on it.
The only thing is, although you CAN do this, you usually have much less TIME to do it as you get older and have both more responsibilities AND more social obligations (birthday parties of relatives, children, or even just meeting friends for drinks).
I play MUCH less than I did 10 years ago as a single bachelor (late night weekends sometimes), but I still play a lot. A lot more than my wife would like me to play, I will tell you that much!
So, again, yes. You can play as you get older. Hell, look at some of the guys that were "professionals" back in the Pac-man/Space Invader days. They weren't exactly kids! (You had to have money to play you know! )

I totally agree, when I have time I try and squeeze in a game or two, but it's mostly on the weekends, and only then after the kids go to sleep (and if it's pretty evident that me and the wife are done for the night )!
Games like Madden and College football are cool, because all you really need is about an hour and you can get one or two season games in, but games like GTA or Fable, etc, or longer games usually take me a while to finish, moslty because of other responsibilities, (wife, kids, work, dogs, friends, etc)

I am NOT going there!!!
Suffice to say, games like TF2, Badlands and Dragon...origins do not lend themselves to 1 hour thingers. You play because of otehr people and some can go on for quite a while.
Then there is Fallout 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Oblivion, etc etc. You CAN save it at any time, but you want to finish the quest, dump your gear at the store, and get everything ready for a clean start on the next startup!
Oh, and this does not even count the stupid console config'd programs with limited save points. I HATE those!

woa, old thread.
Anyway, I'm in my 30's and have no intention to stop gaming. I expect to have a rockin' retirement too... imagine what we'll be playing in 30 years?!
Games are not just for kids. Especially kids that grew up with games.

It's gonna be SO much better than "Lawrence Welk", all day chair sitting while staring at a blank wall and yelling at kids playing on your lawn. Our poor grandparents...
