Does anyone else have trouble connecting their PSP to the PS3? I have the PSP 2000 and for some reason I can't seem to get it to connect to my PS3 with the USB or through wireless network. I think I'm following all the correct steps but not sure what I'm doing wrong.

You must connect it wirelessly, though Remote Play. I forgot the exact procedure... I think you must turn on the WLAN switch on the PSP, then do a local search for servers. The PS3 should come up.

Or maybe you have to pair it first... I forgot Ill check and get back to you tommorow

Good luck to you!

I think that link was for an older PSP or maybe previous software updates. Last night, I was finally able to get all the security passwords matching so I could use the "Remote play" function. I was hoping I'd be able to use the PSP as a second controller for the PS3, but I guess it's not designed that way. Maybe the new PSP 3000 version will allow this.

Ugh, I keep forgetting to do this! All PSP can connect to PS3s, but you can only use it as a controller during certain games.

Do you have more than one account on your PS3?

I've only set up the one account so far. I'm also still working on my wireless N internet router at my house to get the wireless access for the PS3. I read somewhere that I can set up my PSP to connect to my PS3 at home even when I'm at another house as long as there's an internet connection.

Yes, this is true, although I have no idea how to do it. There was a person who explained in detail how to do it, but I forgot how. Have you registered your PSP to your PS3?

I asked because your PSP will not connect automatically to your PS3 if you have more than one account.

Somebody broke into my house through the back door and they stole a Sony 16GB MP3 player, a small camera and my PSP 2000. They left a couple laptops and some bigger things so we think it was probably some of the local teenagers looking for the smaller electronics.
Now that I've installed new locks on my back door, I'm thinking of upgrading to the PSP 3000. I also read about a Sony Location free system that might help me connect my PSP to my PS3 which is at a different house (in a better neighborhood) about 15miles away.
