News, Ohio Teen Convicted of Killing Mom Over Video Game.
Although a teenager's obsession with a violent video game may have warped his sense of reality, the boy is guilty of murdering his mother and wounding his father after they took "Halo 3" away from him, a judge ruled Monday. "I firmly believe that Daniel Petric had no idea at the time he hatched this plot that if he killed his parents they would be dead forever," Lorain County Common Pleas Judge James Burge said.

And it's crap like this that people use to try and say that "Video Games cause violent behaviors".
From the Article:

the teenager had planned to make it appear to be a murder-suicide by putting the gun in his father's hand.
|
That never seemed to happen in Halo 3...

The kid looks off. Seriously...did you see his picture?
I read the story..."close your eyes"
That kid is 17 and a total nut ball. No one "crazy" asks you to close your eyes.

"Defense Attorney James Kersey said that when the teenager fled the grisly scene, he only took one item with him: the "Halo 3" game."
I guess he didn't need to take his 360 with him??
Seriously the kid was crazy long before Halo came out, this was just one more thing to send him over the edge.
P.S. Real FPS players use a mouse and keyboard...controllers are horrible. Unless it's drunken halo parties at someones house then it's ok...

Hopefully, this teen gets to play "Don't pick up the soap" for the rest of his life.

Hmmmm. It's a really complicated matter you can't say " oh the kid was nuts " or this or that. When your parents shove you in a box for 17 years and they take away the only joy you get out of life, tell me when you hit the mental insanity scale. No books, no tv, no radio, just a bed, the floor and your window. Tell me you'll stay normal.
This A typical mob mentality on the internet is ridiculous.

where are you getting all this info from? you're making it sound like the parents were somehow neglectful/abusive or something. regardless, no one normal flips out and shoots their parents in the head b/c a toy got taken away from them. scum like this kid deserve to go to jail, end of story
