How long can a PS3 run before it blows up! Approx. 5675 years.

I wonder why the PS3 sold at $500.00 USD,but it has 8 cores,RAM,built-in bluetooth,built-in wireless adapter,Blu-ray Player that includes CD and DVD players,and more... while most computers with quad core cost more than $2,000 USD?
