Default Midnight Club: Los Angeles

I know this is a silly question, but...

I've never been to LA. However, I've been playing Midnight Club:LA on PS3. Is the L.A. presented in the game an accurate depiction of L.A.? I know it's not an exact depiction of every L.A. street. But do the vibe of the city and the landmarks you see "feel" like L.A.? Are there any areas that are left out or short changed?

I'm from Atlanta, and I enjoyed riding around the pseudo-Atlanta in Midnight Club 3. But they say MC:LA is even more emersive. Would an L.A. native play the game and say, "Yep, that's L.A. all right..."?

Just curious...

mkdude_08 is on a distinguished road
I'm a gamer and have lived in L.A. (no longer do), but I haven't played MC yet. I have played True Crime (the first one) and thought they did a pretty good job overall. I'll probably rent MC: LA just to check it out. Given the sheer size of L.A., I'd imagine that they more so tried to create the "feel" of L.A. (i.e., certain landmarks, etc.) than an actual re-creation. We'll see...
