Possibly as a reaction to the recent redesign and price drop of the Playstation 3 plus the Xbox 360 price adjustment, Nintendo has lowered the price of the Wii. It’s now only $200 and still comes with Wii Sports packed in.
If you’ve been waiting on the fence to get a Wii now is a great time to pick one up as it has a fantastic library of single and multiplayer games. The aforementioned Wii Sports is excellent and its sequel Wii Sports Resort comes with a peripheral that makes the motion sensitive controller even more accurate. Of course Mario Kart still remains one of the most popular games on the system thanks to its
free on-line mode.
If you’ve heard how fun on-line gaming can be but have been afraid to give it a shot now just may be your chance. Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl both feature on-line modes that are safe yet engaging. Safe in that some pervert can’t make obscene suggestions to you or your loved ones as neither game includes voice-chat. Engaging by allowing players to see just how exhilarating and challenging competing against other real live people (as opposed to the CPU) really is.
The Nintendo Wii was an excellent value at $250 but at $199.99 plus tax it may just be too seductive to resist even if you do already own an Xbox 360 or a PS3.
