Atari 800XL anyone remember it?
We had one of these back in the 80's and used to play Knight Battle and Missle Command. I miss the old systems. Todays new systems are too fancy for me.

You can get video games for today's platforms with some of the old Atari games packaged into one. PS2, probably xbox, and for PS3 on the paystation network have games featuring all the old atari games.

HAHAHAHA!!!! Yeah it was indeed a very fun system to play! I know you can get those games on PS2 etc but nothing beats the original game system. Looking down at that huge electrical piece of cutting edge technology!

I had an Atari 2600 when I was a kid. Basically my parents didn't come from money and I inherited it from my cousin who 'outgrew' it and got NES (spoiled). I got some of the coolest stuff with it. There were about 50 games (included classics like Pac-man, pitfall, etc)! Wireless controllers! A balance board! It was crazy. Then I sold it at a yard sale so I could get a nintendo later on. I'm an idiot. I wish I still had it.

I still remember my dad buying an Atari 800 for Christmas 1981. We thought loading "States and Capitals" on a cassette taking 5 minutes to start was pretty cool at the time.
We also got an Atari 2600 as well, which I remember playing quite a lot the next summer.
Eventually the Atari 800 got handed down to me and then to a relative. I can't remember what happened to it.
I got a 130 XE in 1987 which was the fastest Atari 8 bit and first got online with BBS's that year.
Eventually got my dads Atari ST which we got Christmas 1986. I think I used that until 1995 or so. Can't remember now if I sold it on ebay or gave it away. Might still have it somewhere in my boxes in the barn.
The Atari 8 bits and ST's were always better than the competition. Commodores and Amigas were clunky to use, Apples overpriced and lame, IBM's total suckage. Too bad all Atari's problems dragged them down.
Lots of great games were released and I still play many of them occasionally on an emulator.
