Up to level 15 soldier and level 13 chick.
Kind of a different playing style for each (phase walk can get you out of, and INTO, a lot of trouble).
One thing I did not notice? Hit "P". That tells you your progression in certain proficiencies. Regardless of what you choose as a skill, the more you USE an item, the better you GET at it!
I LIKE THAT!!!! No more making pancakes for 20 hours to become an expert with a two handed sword!
(BTW, I think they just changed it so you can customise your keybindings... I was not aware of that before... Now if they only made the voice chat toggle-able)

I think my Gamespy name is the same as mine here, if you want to look it up (I am usually logged onto steam, however).
Have fun!

I got it for the PC. Im playing soldier who is no classified as heavy gunner. I use mostly combat rifles. I was using shotguns as my number 2 but found out machine pistols or smgs are probably better. Shotguns need to be reloaded too often for my taste.
I was sick for 4 days so i had a lot of time to play. I think im level 27 now but im stuck. Either my quest is bugged or i just cant figure it out. blah

Yeah, I am only at a 14/17 split now (Siren/Soldier). I like the repeating pistol for the chick, and they are great if you get teh right one!
The AR is awesome too, but some take forever to reload AND are inaccurate at range.
Shotgun is the worst for that though. The one that fires mini rockets is cool... IF IT SHOT STRAIT, and the others are only good if you are in close and tight (shooting a Skag in the rear or flank does wonders!). But it all depends on the weapon. So long as you have decent skill in anything, the weapon will work well.
You probably know better than I at this point.
The only thing I find annoying are the low level critters that keep spawning and forcing you to waste ammo on them! I have to run up to them and smack them so I do not run out of pistol ammo!!!

Yeah how many damn times do i have to run back to the vendor to buy ammo, bleh
The combat rifles are great. ONce you hit level something or other you can get a class mod that gives you 60% of magazine capacity for rifles and another +% damage one. The one i have no has a 66% rate of fire and with my class mod i have 140 bullet clip. I can usually kill like 10 guys before i have to reload. Later in the game you really need to not worry about reloading because some of the creatures have an incredible amount of hit points.

That's where environmental effects come in handy.
I am still not used to aiming for barrels, but setting people on fire is always fun.
Oh, the life-sucking granade is a blast (no pun) too!!!!

I beat it last night. I got a hellfire weapon which shoots out flame, pretty cool. Now i get to play through on the 2nd difficulty setting. I was kind of dissapointed that the game was not more challening. Maybe playthrough 2 will be harder.
On another note my friend just picked it up so it looks like I will have to start a new character to play with him.

I finished it too and was bummed by how easy the final boss was (I had only worked up to level 36) and by how it ended. I should have rented it.

I take back what I said though. AFter finishing it i am now playing it on playthrough 2. The enemes are harder obviously and it seems like there are more of them as well. For instance the skags at the beginning that come out of the little holes you use to kill 4 or 5 of them and that would be it. The first time i fought those I fought like 12-15 of them. The loot is better and there are mobs which have an enourmous amount of health. Also i started playing multiplayer with a friend and the 2 player game is actually a lot harder than single player. We are having a blast.
Also I think they are going to up the level cap from what i hear as well as add more content.
