I have been thinking about getting one of these action cameras and of course lots of competition and questions between the offerings. It seems like the top of the line is the Go Pro Hero 3 Black edition that retails everywhere for $399. Is the camera worth it? I like the small size for tight spots and would use it on my garden trains, attach onto my sports car, my body when doing water sports like kneeboarding, and maybe even onto my stunt kite.
Does anyone have one of these cameras and how well do they function? I have read reviews and thye seem to be split and their customer service is not good.
Is there a better alternative to the go pro hero 3 black?

I have the GoPro HD2 Motorsports Edition and I really like mine. It was a gift and I use it when ride my motorcycle. I have nothing to compare it to since I have never used a device like this before.
It produces very nice videos with sound I really have no complaints with mine!

Check amazon and read the reviews apparently they early released model is junk!!! they rushed it to market for X-mas before working out all the kinks with it. I want one too but I am waiting for the next batch just to be safe.
Walmart usually has the best prices and free add ons sometimes too. I don't have the black. I have the hero silver3+ and I really like it. I ordered the dog harness so my dog can go on walks with the camera strapped on. Walmart also has a ton of reviews to help you decide if the black is worth it. From everything I've read it basically has alot better audio than previous versions
