I'm usually on the producer side for my video production company and my true dreams are writing / directing feature films (I've done one - Amy Alyson Fans, on iTunes, Hulu, Amazon Instant, etc.), but videography is something I've gotten more into over the past few years and am now handling a lot of it in Portland for my own company when the work arises. Should have a chance to shoot several videos this summer.
This one I shot over about 10 different days mostly in the summer in Oregon (mostly Portland) and it wasn't for any client just for fun. Although it did land us another local client (Passport Online featured on this page too), so that was fun. I shot the 735 video and the car dealership commercial on this page also. I'm hoping to have my editor make me a reel later this year with some interviews I've done and a mix of my overall footage.
Pretty good. Nice smooth video. I am old with some hearing injuries... Thanks for the excellent voice. Just about right on the the length, maybe a bit shorter rather than longer.
My only complaint, There was a slight overall lack of sharpness in the video.
I think it's pretty long too. There was so much material and it was a rare non corporate piece so we indulged a bit.
Sharpness as in compression perhaps? I mean I feel I was pretty thorough in checking focus though I admit the 5D can be much tougher than a RED with an external HD monitor :/
I'll have my editor take another look at that. Thanks! We just switched how we host / compress our videos so I'd like to see if we can make some of them look stronger
This thread is a bit older, but if the OP is still around, I just wanted to say this was a nice informational video. This made interested in learning more about Portland, and perhaps visiting!
Too late for the video you posted in May, but in the future, those scene cuts were way too quick. If I'm trying to "sell" a city, I'm going to let the viewers see what I'm selling a little bit longer than a second. It was too painful on the eyes for me to watch the whole thing because the scenes kept changing at a rapid pace.
