There is still some shake in it. I want to do a horror thriller movie that has some chase scenes in it. But when it comes to chases, should I get a gimbal, which has some shake unless I get a DP or gimbal operator who really knows what she/he is doing...
Or should I get a dolly and a 50 foot long track, so a shot of an actor running can last about 3 seconds at least before having to cut. Gimbals can be used in public, outdoors without much hassle compared to a dolly though, but dollies seem easier to operate, but more restricted on movement. I would like to jump up and down, if possible, while following the actors if they jump. But in that clip, the jumps are not as smooth perhaps.
Also, with a dolly, I would need a long zoom lens, so I can zoom past the tracks, to avoid them being seen.

What do you think?
Terrible... Perhaps you need to practice a lot more...
Okay thanks. However, he's not doing any running shots, as if you are tracking an actor who is running as fast as he can, which I will be doing. I am much better with the gimbal if it's slower moving shots, like he does. However, how is the gimbal when it comes to running fast then?
Well I keep reading that both are good, but I noticed that gimbals are more popular. But why is that? What is the preference of that for most people to choose it over a dolly?
