Some shots in movies are usually done with telephoto lenses to bring objects actors closer together. But I was told by someone I've worked with in the filmmaking community, that I should try to cheat the compression and make the audience think the objects are closer together, when they are not. But I wonder how much I can cheat it.
Here are shots I want where I shot it with high compression with a telephoto lens, and then tried to cheat teh same shot with a 50mm lens by actually having the objects closer together, rather than looking that way on a telephoto.
But what do you think? Do the cheats work and the audience will assume it's high compression rather than the objects actually being closer together?
