Lebanon, Glade Spring, or Saltville??
I am looking at buying land in Lebanon, Glade Spring, and/or Saltville and am wondering about the opinions of any locals about those towns? Right now, it would be for an investment and possibly to turn into vacation properties to pass onto my grandchild someday. I have looked all three towns up online and have the basic demographics, but would like to know the "personality and atmosphere" of each town. I have found parcels of land in all three that I would like to purchase in the near future, but some input from locals will help me make that decision. Glade Spring is close to the college and the 5 acres I have found there is really enticing...actually thinking of building up there and trying to get a teaching position at Emory in 5 years or so. Thanks for any insight and input you may have.

Trying to generate some responses.
Hello? Anyone? Ok, how about anyone who knows someone in Lebannon, Glade Spring, or Saltville....you don't have to be a native....can you tell me anything about life in these towns? Basically, friendliness, community activities...that sort of thing. I don't need to know about job availability, the town's financial affairs, or other deomgraphics...just the "feel" of the town in general. Thanks!

We were interested in seeing the replies about those counties as well as Scott and Washington. Glades is very interesting to us as well because of the college.
Hopefully, someone who has knowlede of these towns will reply so we can learn more.

I'm interested in the areas mentioned above, and Scott County and Washington County.
I hate to take advice of realtors about areas, or what I read on internet, would also hope someone with "experience" in this areas would give us a description.

Glade Spring and Lebanon
Hi, I have had the pleasure of living in both Glade Spring and Lebanon. The life in both towns is nice (if you like small town living). My love Glade Spring. Everyone is very friendly. It is also right off of I81. Bristol is only 30 miles away and has great food and shopping. It is also near Historic Abingdon (which is another town I love). There really isn't a lot in the town, but it is still nice. My husband went to Emory and Henry, great college!
Saltville is a lot like Glade Spring, just farther out.
Lebanon is an okay town. It has a lot of farmland, not much else.

Thank you...I just checked back on here. I bought land outside of Mendota in Scott County....10 1/2 beautiful acres for under $50,000!! I love it up there!
