Default Commuting from Eastern Maryland to VA what is the best city to relocate to?

I will be moving to maryland in a year at attend the Unversity of maryland eastern shore. This school is near salisbury, MD and is located in Princess Anne, MD. I am tring to find a city in VA that is close enough for me to commute back and forward from VA to MD. When i look on the map all the little small cities no one knows anything about. I need a city that is not to far a way that has all the things a college student would like to have such as: good housing pricing, shopping, safe enviroment, and good location. I can live in either a town home or apartment. If the housing is in a good location and is safe i will just about pay anything to live in that area ,but in good reason.

Please help me!!1

I live in VA, but judging by the map I looked at your school is located near the Eastern Shore of VA. Which yes, are very small towns, with very little to do (your not going to find any clubs, lol). I dont know if any way to get across the bay, unless there is a ferry. Looks to me like your only option is going to be northern va, but thats probably not a quick commute. Why dont you try something in MD? It would be much more convenient for you.
