We are driving north on interstate 81 and passing fields of beautiful yellow flowers. Does anyone know what they are called, it makes for a wonderful drive.

It may be canola (commonly called rapeseed outside of the U.S.). It blooms in the spring and is used for oil and fodder. More farmers are growing it as it can also be used for biofuel.

That looks it, thank you. Combined with the the purple flowers of the redbud trees and the flowering dogwood it was a spectacular drive.
