Default Relocating to Harrisonburg area

Hello everyone! I would like to thank everyone in advance for taking the time to read this and hopefully offer some information.
My husband has just received and accepted a job offer that wants him in or near Harrisonburg. He will be working out of our home, so a daily commute is not going to be an issue. We have been trying to look online to check out the housing market, and were somewhat shocked. It appears that a home big enough for the 5 of us with room for a home office is ranging around 250K. Is there an area with good schools (my children will be going into 4th grade, 1st grade, and kindergarten) with established neighborhoods, and low crime for a decent price? I was hoping to be in the 200K range, but I am a little concerned.
We are coming from Hurricane, WV. And by cost of living comparisions, it claims that Harrisonburg is approx. 15% higher. Would you agree or disagree with that?
I have medical issues that I also need to find a good network of doctors who deal with fibromyalgia, hashimotos, arthritis, and various other conditions. Any recommendations there?
I am sure that I am missing some things, but any advise about this general area would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, hambys97

Look at Elkton. 15- minutes east of harrisonburg. South of Luray, North of Waynesboro/Staunton and 40 minutes west of Charlottesville.

When youre in Harrisonburg and you can see the beautiful mountains off to the east? Elkton is at the foot of them nestled against the Shenandoah Natl Park.
Nothing town,....but close to everything. Good real estate prices.

Good luck!

Default Harrisonburg

You could also look at Grottoes. Quiet, really cute town with tons of local history. Really nice. Probably cheaper, I don't know. It's about 12 miles west of the burg.
