My husband as the opportunity to work at a coal mine located in or near Grundy, VA. Before he accepts or declines the offer I am researching the area...
I'm not concerned with the cultural/enviromental shock, we are from Bramwell & Rock WV so we've seen the "dead" towns and blasted mountains and nasty weather. We would be looking for a 2-3 bedroom home with a decent yard for a dog and child. We would also like a friendly & safe community and a GOOD local church. Can any tell me the pricing median to rent in the area? What is the better/safer areas to live? (anywhere within a 45 min commute to Grundy) And also if anyone has any information on websites, papers, traders, individuals, etc. that would have rental properties or RTOs, ANY information would be appreciated!! ...Also what are schools like? I have a 2 1/2 year old so hoping to put him in preschool this upcoming fall. Help PLEEEEAAASE!!
