I have a car that has a brake light at the back window as well.

Apparently, that light is not working but the regular brake taillights are working. My car failed since that back window light is not working.

Many cars do not even have that back window light. I was wondering if that was part of the inspection process....since my regular taillights do work.

thanks.

If the car is equipped with a light, it must work.

i had the same problem with a inspection station in virginia beach. i have a sunday driver car that i drive less then 600 miles a year and take it to the same place every year for inspection and the last 3 years it passed and this year nothing changed and they said it failed cause y catalic converter doesnt have a label on it, it never had a label on it the last 3 years n still passed at the same exact place n told them if that was the case they werent doing a proper inspection the last 3 years n it just happen to figure the guys who did my inspection the last 3 years dont work there anymore, this also hapend with another of my cars i took there this past year. on that car my driver window hasnt worked for yearsand it passed every year and this year same thing, so pretty much the last 3 years i been taking my cars there they havent been doing the inspections properly. Your best bet is to go somewhere else and report it to the state police.

Wow. I can't wait to move to Roanoke!
The only catch to VA's low inspection charge is that very few people who work at the inspection stations want to do them! Apparently they are money losers! I have had the biggest problem in Roanoke finding places that are helpful. I did find Firestone at Tanglewood Mall who are great!
