Smile Colonial Heights?

Hello,

I'm looking to move to southern Virginia from Connecticut. I'm looking for milder weather, good schools, and a beautiful home for under $300K. I have two teenagers and a quiet home with low crime, nice neighbors and activities within a short commute. I've been told about Colonial Heights. I was hoping someone could give me some tips on this and areas to move.

Also I will be down to check out the areas suggested, where's an inexpensive but decent place to stay?

thanx in advance!
Mikani

I think that you'd love chesterfield county. There very schools a lot of affordable housing and you are still close to the city's of Richmond, Petersburg and Colonial Heights. You are an Hour from the beaches and Mountains and two hours from Washington DC and Two Hours from Baltimore Md. I think you'd find just about evrything you are looking for in Chesterfield nice malls etc.

Thumbs up The City of Colonial Heights, Virginia

I was a long time resident in Colonial Heights, Va. It is a fine city to live in. The schools are outstanding. The Police and Fire departments are I would say the best in the country. You will have no problem fining a home for around $300,000. The crime rate is very low. The tax rate is a little high but you get what you pay for. Colonial Heights is about a 45 min drive south just off of interstate 95 south maybe a little longer during rush hour. Old route 1 and 301 go right through the middle of the city. Shopping is very convenient, South Park Mall is right off interstate 95 minutes from anywhere in the city. Motel rates are around $50.00 a night. Colonial Heights is also very quite. I have put a web address below with information about Colonial Heights. I say for the money The City of Colonial Heights, Virginia is one of your better places to live in, and I should know I have lived there. http://www.city-data.com/housing/hou...-Virginia.html Parker Orfield ( If I can help with any further information my email is viper581@msn.com

Smile Colonial Heights

Is it me or am I searching in the wrong places?

I just checked out some apartments in the Colonial Heights area. One 3 bedroom on Lakeview Park Road - 1250sq ft is $800. That's cheap. My first thought is Section 8 or housing voucher.

Is it cheaper to live in the Richmond area or the Hampton Roads area? I have seen some pretty expensive apartments in HR.
