Default Medical Marijuana for restless leg syndrome in VA?

I've had restless leg syndrome for nearly my whole life, but it was so minor that I simply thought it was itchy skin. Two months ago, it exponentially increased in severity to the point of ruining my sleep most nights

Blood tests came out normal so it's likely not a mineral deficiencies

Out of the few things I've tried, only marijuana seems to be consistently helpful in helping me fall asleep. It get rids of the weird night creepy crawling sensations better than anything else

I have not tried "legal" but extreme methods like anti-parkinsons treatment. I'm a little wary of trying some of the drugs doctors typically prescribe for RLS

So, is it possible to get Marijuana for RLS in VA?

No. The law only covers cancer and glaucoma.

Restless leg syndrome was something fairly new to me and someone recommended that I try magnesium supplement. About $10.00 for a bottle of 100 tablets and within a few nights I was sleeping like a baby, problem solved.

Even though your blood work came back normal you might want to try this much less costly idea and see if it helps.

I started taking Raw Apple Cider Vinegar for allergies because a friend suggested it. After a couple of days I noticed that I was going right to sleep when I hit the bed. Since then (about 3 weeks) I have only had 1 instance of RLS!! I have been taking 1 tsp with a little salt and pepper 3 times a day. And I chase it with alot of water. I drank coffee at 6pm last night just to test out my theroy and I went to right to sleep!! I have not been able to take caffeine at ALL for about 6 months!! ( I would not be able to sleep at ALL at night if I did) It's worth a try....

Hell I say legalize! I. Have horrible anxiety, a sleeping disorder and chronic migrains. Its been the cure all for everything.. I would rather take and herbal treatment than a bunch of pills I don't know anything about.. plus half of the things doctors perscribe. Are more intoxicating than marijuana

You'll be able to get it in DC now. Perhaps consider a move there?

RLS .It's a miserable thing to have! I've been on Ropinerole for it. I keep having to increase the dose.It just keeps getting worse.
I'm curious why you're leary of the standard medications for it?

Default Ropinerol

My Dr put me on Ropinerol. Worked for the RLS but building depression as a side effect. Stopped Ropinerol after my wife 'interviened'. New Specialist has put me on 'Madopar' (Levodopa + Benserazide 100mg/25mg). Works very well. No side effects after three years. Unfortunately cannot even try marijuana due to military employment. Might try it when I retire!

I have to agree marijuana is better than any sleepin pill or muscle relaxer. I dont know why the state have rights to keep it from us. Would rather us be sick from all their man made medicines instead of What god put here for us to use in any ways for many things .

I think it's because it's still associated with the 60s along with other things they didn't approve of like school desegregation and inter-racial marriage. This is one they weren't forced by the feds to accept.
