Does it seem like the Virginia Board needs a new sub-forum for reckless driving incidents?

"I was driving 110 miles per hour in a school zone! Now I'm being charged with a misdemeanor!?!? Omg guys Virginia is the suck"

A lot of these threads are kind of ridiculous.

The posts do run the gamut of excuses, I am teacher, it was an emergency, I was only going 25 over the limit. My favorite "this is the first time I have been stopped" but further reading usually includes "this state", "this year", "since getting my license last month"....

Yes, subforum please.

Also, the law is BS. Going 81 mph in a 70mph zone should not carry the same penalties as a DUI.

Every time the law comes on the Virginia state floor, there aren't enough votes to make any changes. Not sure how the alternate laws or changes to existing laws are being pushed but they aren't passing.

I would guess the lawyers do a bit of lobbying with the state legislative branch to keep their racket going strong.

Your statement is more than a little dramatic. To be fair, going 81 in a 70 MPH zone in Texas and a vast majority of states is just a simple speeding ticket; whereas, in VA it's reckless driving. Most of the threads are people that are from out of state and are ignorant to the law. I really think VA should post signs at the state border indicating anything 80 and over can be cited for reckless driving, but I'm sure it's a money grab for the state.

I'm for a reckless driving sub-forum though.

Why do we need a sub-forum to tell everybody to slow the hell down? Frankly we need to delete ALL the reckless driving threads. I know everybody can't go the speed limit at the same time but come on 90, 95, 110 in a 65 zone, just insane, you get what you deserve.
